Event Review

In line with recent predictions of increases in trade volumes as the impact of the global recession finally begins to ease, Exporta welcomed a record turnout from the global trade finance community at its annual GTR Leaders in Trade Awards Dinner.

Held with the purpose of recognising and celebrating excellence in the trade finance market in 2009, the dinner welcomed in excess of 250 guests, with a number of awards presented to different regional banking, legal and insurance institutions, as well as for GTR's Deals of the Year, selected by a special judging panel as landmark transactions.

These awards were presented following a hugely entertaining after-dinner speech from the BBC broadcaster Garry Richardson.

As with all Exporta events, excellent opportunities were provided for guests to network with their global peers, while the evening also featured a special charity auction, with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes, an organisation formed to help those who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts.
