Argentina Trade & Export Finance Forum

Argentina Trade & Export Finance Forum

ARGENTINABuenos Aires, ARGENTINA | October 25-26, 2006
Marriott Plaza Hotel

Event Review

This was, we believe, the very first specialised gathering in Argentina itself since the economic crisis to focus on trade and export finance and risks.

The delegate numbers and feedback from the event were testament to a very successful gathering, which attracted local banks, insurers and corporates as well as those from North America, Asia and Europe.

The conclusions were clear: Argentina is fighting back to the international markets - led largely by commodity exports and other avenues of trade; there are multiple opportunities for foreign players to enter the Argentine market and to partner with local companies; the government and central bank however still need to streamline and reform much regulatory practices to grease the wheels.
