emeafinance held its second annual Middle East Banking Achievement Awards charity dinner at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on February 17, 2010.
The event was attended by the region’s most successful commercial and investment banks, legal firms and corporate advisers, many of whom travelled from all corners of the continent to celebrate their success and achievements during a difficult year.
The evening’s keynote speech was delivered by Jan Plantagie, a managing director and regional head at ratings agency Standard & Poor’s. Jan offered his thoughts on several topics, including the outlook for the real estate sector and its impact on regional economies, the relative resilience of Islamic finance during the crisis and, ultimately, what may lie ahead for banks in the Middle East in the coming months and years.
The dinner was held in aid of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, with donations going directly to its Disaster Relief Emergency Fund. emeafinance was honoured to welcome Gorkhmaz Huseynov , the society’s head of the regional logistics unit and fleet base, to the event. Thank you to all the participants who provided support to this worthy cause.
emeafinance congratulates the award winners and hopes to see them at next year’s event.
